Coś Ładnego
scope of work: UX – UI – Visual design
tools: pen & paper, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD
project duration: December’21 – January’22
PROJECT BASICS
Background
This was not the first project for Coś Ładnego, a small family business selling handmade jewelry, that I worked on. A few month earlier I developed design outlines for rebranding of the company’s image, and now a design of a responsive e-marketing website was a natural next step.
Challenge
The goal was to design a user-friendly multi-language e-commerce platform that would allow the company provide better online services to their current clients as well as gain new ones, also outside Poland.
Solution
In case of an e-commerce platform, ease of navigation together with the search and filtering options are key to provide clients with best user experience possible.
Also, the visual design must be standing out from the crowd and be memorable to visitors – therefore it was crucial to keep it consistent throughout the whole website and through different platforms.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES
People first: design for needs
Intuitive navigation is the key
Keep menus and filtering options clear and simple
Let users create their experience with ease
Keep the design consistent and memorable
Design, test, iterate, repeat

OUTCOMES
IT'S NOT THE SIZE THAT MATTERS
What made this project different from other e-marketing platforms I worked on was the functionality allowing users to find jewelry fairs where ‘Coś Ładnego’ would be present, and making it possible to easily arrange order pickup at those fairs. That shows that even small businesses do need non-standard solutions and designing for them can be a nice challenge for a designer.
NEXT STEPS
In the next step, the website needs to be developed and feedback needs to be received from users, which will be more reliable than the user testing conducted with the use of low and high fidelity prototypes. Depending on the feedback and KPIs decisions will be made as to possible future iterations.
